Assisted living strives to promote maximum independence and the resident's right to choose. It provides assistance in the areas of daily living activities and personal care (i.e. showering, dressing, nail care), health maintenance activities, and other supportive services available 24 hours per day.  

Assisted living is an option for those who do not need the skilled nursing care provided in a nursing facility but do need something more than independent living. Assisted living typically serves:

• Those that need help with housekeeping chores, meal preparation, bathing, dressing, or taking medications
• Those that require some health care assistance or monitoring
• Those in need of transportation and moblity assistance or monitoring
• Those that have periods of confusion or memory problems
